Albuquerque, New Mexico

Balloons at dawn, the Sandias at dusk, and your story in between

Some Albuquerque mornings start with a sky full of balloons and end with the mountains glowing. The life you have lived between those hours is yours to tell.

Try it free for 7 days. Only you can see your record. Never public or searchable.

When the burners glowed before sunrise at the Balloon Fiesta, who was standing next to you?

Between the balloons at dawn and the Sandias glowing at dusk sits an ordinary Albuquerque day, from a diner on Central to the bosque in gold, and that day is worth recording. You can speak an answer into your device after a walk on the Paseo del Bosque. ToldForward keeps each one exactly as you said it, private for now, for the people you choose later on.

Only you can see your answers while you live.

Albuquerque, New Mexico

Your Albuquerque, in your own words

Every October, the sky fills up

The Balloon Fiesta began in 1972 with just 13 balloons, and it has grown into the city's big annual October event. A wind pattern created by the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande Valley helps steer the balloons. Maybe you have stood in a field before sunrise with a thermos of coffee, or watched from your own backyard. Let the people close to you know what that first glow of the burners looked like to you, and who was standing next to you.

Old Town and Central Avenue

Albuquerque's first families founded the villa in 1706, long before anyone imagined a highway. Later, Route 66 was routed right along Central Avenue, bringing travelers from across the country through the heart of the city. Perhaps you remember a diner, a shop or a cruise night that you still talk about. Everyday places like those rarely make the history books. Your memories of them can tell someone years from now what the city sounded and tasted like.

Walks in the bosque

Locals call the cottonwood forest along the Rio Grande the bosque, Spanish for forest, and the Paseo del Bosque Trail runs north to south through it. It is where people walk dogs, ride bikes and watch the leaves turn gold. Whatever your own quiet place in the city is, it says something about you. The way you think about it today, at this point in your life, is worth saving exactly as you would say it.
