Change your email or phone
Change your home address
Optional, separate from the emails about your account and record. Change it at any time.
How you sign in
You sign in with your email and password. An authenticator app adds a code when you sign in, and a passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, face or device PIN instead. Both are optional.
Authenticator app (optional)
Once added, signing in with your password also asks for the 6-digit code the app shows.
Add ToldForward to your authenticator app, then enter the 6-digit code it shows.
Or type this key into the app:
Passkeys (optional)
A passkey on this phone or computer, or a security key, signs you in without your password. Your password keeps working.

Start a record of your own
Answer a question a day, write in your own words, and build your family tree, for the people you choose to receive after you are gone. Your designations stay as they are.

Sharing the copies you leave
After the waiting period, each person you named receives their own copy of your record. They may never publish it or sell it. Unless you say no here, each may share their copy privately and without payment, for example with family.
Who receives your record
Your record goes only to the people you name. With this direction on, we also never give it, or a list of what it holds, to your executor, an agent under a power of attorney or a guardian, unless a court orders it.
Read the directionYour sensitive information
There are two consents, to keep it and to hand it to the people you designate after your death, and both are needed to write. Withdrawing either deletes what you have written within 15 days, after we offer you a copy. Data and deletion
Read it and agreePeople helping you
Someone you choose can help you type answers, read questions aloud and find your way around. They have their own sign-in, and the choices stay yours: they cannot change the people you named, your membership or your settings. You can remove a helper at any time; they are not told first.

People who act for you
Someone with your power of attorney, or a guardian a court appointed, can handle your billing, cancelling and contact details, after our staff review their documents. They can never read or write your record or make your choices. If you did not expect someone here, object: it stops them at once while we review it.
Your membership
Want the private chat for your family and/or designees? About Archive Membership
Next: payment and your Participant Agreement. Everything in your record comes with you.
More with Archive Membership
Archive Membership adds a guide for the people you name and a yearly review of your wishes. Its settings appear here once you move up: how long the people you named wait, whether the guide may be retired, add-ons, a Historical Deposit and the training choice.
Move up to Archive MembershipWaiting period
No one may begin a conversation with your record, or receive a copy, until at least 6 months after your passing is confirmed. You may make it longer, for everyone or for one person. It can never be shorter.
The guide
Add-ons
Optional additions to your Archive Membership, paid for separately.
Historical Deposit
If you choose, a copy of your record goes to a partner library or archive for your state when it leaves ToldForward after your passing, kept there for history under the library's own policies.

Moving to Record Membership
Move to Record Membership
Everything you recorded in the Archive is kept, and you can still read and export it; the people you name receive it with the rest of your record. A Historical Deposit you have already bought is honored. You can change your mind before the date.
If you paid years ahead, the move waits until all of them end. Years paid ahead are not refunded.
My data
Optional, and separate from everything else. It never changes your price. You can withdraw at any time; models already trained cannot be untrained.
Download a copy of your record
One ZIP file: a searchable PDF book of your record, and your own words in plain text with the date of each answer and change. You can download a copy whenever you like. Preparing it can take a few minutes.
Delete my record
This deletes your whole record for good. It cannot be undone, and nobody at ToldForward can bring it back.
- Every answer and piece of writing, with every earlier version.
- Your family tree.
- The people you named will not receive anything.
- Anything that renews is cancelled, and we confirm it by email. A Historical Deposit fee is not refunded. Your account itself stays, so you can still sign in; you can close it below.
If you want to keep a copy, download it above first.
Close my account
This closes your account for good. It cannot be undone.
- Your record is deleted for good, if you have one, with everything in it.
- Anything that renews is cancelled. Time already paid for is not refunded.
- You step down from every record you are designated for, and from helping anyone.
- You can no longer sign in. Your name, contact details and sign-in methods are removed.
We keep only what we must: that this account existed, its payments, and what you agreed to, including this.
