Bridgeport, Connecticut

Bridgeport has a showman's history. Your story is the main event.

Bridgeport looks out on Long Island Sound, and its parks and old buildings are full of stories. The way you see your city today deserves to be kept in your own words.

Try it free for 7 days. Only you can see your record. Never public or searchable.

Which summer at Seaside Park stands out most, and who always showed up for the cookout?

P.T. Barnum loved a big show, but your quieter moments can be just as surprising, told with your own timing and your own punch lines. ToldForward asks a single question each day, keeps your answers private while you live, and lets you decide who will one day read about Bridgeport the way you lived it.

Only you can see your answers while you live.

Your Bridgeport, in your own words

A park by the Sound

Seaside Park was laid out just after the Civil War by Calvert Vaux and Frederick Law Olmsted, and P.T. Barnum is largely responsible for its development. Today it offers beaches and about three miles of shoreline along Long Island Sound. Do you have a spot there where you like to sit and watch the water? Tell about the summer days, the cookouts and the people who always showed up. Which summer stands out most?

A showman's building

P.T. Barnum paid for the building that became the Barnum Museum, which first opened to the public in 1893 and was named a National Historic Landmark in 2023. Barnum loved a big show. You may prefer a quieter life, but you have your own surprising moments. What is the most unexpected thing that ever happened to you? Write it down just the way you would tell it to a good friend.

Zoo days and park paths

Beardsley Park still looks remarkably like the plan Olmsted presented to the city in 1884, with granite bridges and paths lined with big trees. Inside it is Beardsley Zoo, established in 1922 and the only zoo in Connecticut. Maybe you went there on a school trip, or brought friends along years later. What did you see that day? Your memories of simple outings are part of Bridgeport's story too. Who was with you, and what made everyone laugh?

The guide

It quotes you. It never pretends to be you.

With Archive Membership, the people you name can ask a guide about your life. It answers only with your own words, quoted and dated, and says plainly when your record holds no answer.

  • Your words, exactly

Quotes come straight from your record, never rewritten by AI.

  • Clearly an AI

The guide always says it is an AI, and speaks about you, not as you.

  • Honest when unsure

When nothing you wrote answers a question, it says so.
