Louisville, Kentucky

Your Louisville, from the riverfront to your front porch

Louisville is a river city with a big heart and a real fondness for its own people. Your stories of life here, told the way only you can tell them, are well worth keeping.

Try it free for 7 days. Only you can see your record. Never public or searchable.

Have you walked the Big Four Bridge on a summer evening, and what were you talking about?

Louisville likes to claim its own, and the people who believed in you deserve to be claimed too, along with the shotgun house or cul-de-sac you call home. Nothing leaves your hands while you live. Someday the people you choose will find a city and a person they recognize, told in your own voice.

Only you can see your answers while you live.

Louisville, Kentucky

Your Louisville, in your own words

A hometown that claims its own

Louisville is Muhammad Ali's hometown, and the Muhammad Ali Center, which he and Lonnie Ali founded in 2005, stands in the city today. Louisville likes to claim the people who came from here, and it should. You came from somewhere too, and the streets, schools and people who shaped you are part of your story. Who were the people who believed in you? What did you learn from them? Those are stories the people after you will want to hear.

Sunsets over the Ohio

Waterfront Park sits along the Ohio River, with playgrounds, picnic areas and boat docks, and the Big Four Bridge, an old railroad bridge opened to people on foot and on bikes, crosses the river to Jeffersonville, Indiana. It is a lovely place to watch the sun go down. Have you walked that bridge on a summer evening, or brought someone there for the first time? What were you talking about? What did the city look like from the middle of the river? Small scenes like that are worth keeping.

City and county together

Louisville and Jefferson County share a single metro government, so the city takes in old downtown blocks, suburbs and dozens of small communities. That means a great many different Louisvilles live side by side. On West Main Street you can even tour the factory at the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. Whatever your Louisville looks like, whether it is a shotgun house, a cul-de-sac or an apartment above a shop, your view of it is part of the city's story and part of yours.

The guide, in brief

Answers in your words, with care

The guide is an AI that helps the people you name find what you said. It shows your words as exact, dated quotes and never speaks for you.

  • Quotes, not paraphrase

Your exact sentences, inserted from your record.

  • Disclosed as AI

Every conversation reminds people it is an AI, not you.

  • When there is no answer

It says Unknown rather than invent one.

Three easy steps

No writing experience needed, and no deadline.

  1. Answer in your own words

A few sentences is plenty. Type them, or speak them with your device's dictation.

  2. Write about anything else

Beyond the daily question, add any story, view or advice you want to keep.

  3. Name your people

Choose who will receive your record one day. Change your mind whenever you like.

How we look after your information
  • Your record is private while you live: nothing in it is public or searchable.
  • You choose the people who will one day receive it, and you can change them at any time.
  • If you wish, a copy can one day go to a library or archive through the Historical Deposit.

Our promises to you

  • Never public

Your record cannot be searched or seen by anyone else while you are living.

  • Never invented

The guide quotes you exactly and never makes up an opinion in your name.

  • Never a likeness

We keep text only, so there is nothing anyone could use to recreate your voice or face.

  • Always your choice

Who receives your record, and whether a guide is offered, is decided by you.

Start with today's question

ToldForward asks one friendly question each day, and you answer in your own words, typed or spoken with your device's dictation. You decide who will one day receive your record, and with Archive Membership they can ask a guide that finds your exact words, quoted and dated, and never pretends to be you.
